Biography
Karan Karla Aron is an award-winning pianist, composer and visual artist from Little Rock, Arkansas. Her Southern roots and heritage are ever present in her inner world and are often the subject and impetus driving her to create.
Fanciful ideas spawned from childhood days spent in the back forest behind her grandmother's house provide endless inspiration. Aron's paintings of tangled vines woven through gossamer dresses from another era, and melodies bursting with over-ripe sweetness, play well together in her studio.
Aron holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance from the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Kansas, respectively, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming.
Through a successful licensing contract with Pier 1 Imports, her bird paintings have been widely distributed since 2014. Her paintings are held in private collections in Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States, and in public collections in Wyoming.
Her artwork has been exhibited in such juried shows as The Lincoln Center in Fort Collins, CO, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, Laramie, WY, The Governor's Capital Art Exhibition, Cheyenne, WY, and galleries in the greater Kansas City area.
In 2017, she was awarded a Performing Artist Residency with Charlotte Street Foundation in Kansas City.
She released her debut solo piano album in 2023. Her one-person musical which debuted in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2023 is in development for re-release in 2026.
